Watch Mash Online

M*A*S*H stands for the Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, and in this case it’s the U.S. army division, sent in the Korean War set in the 50s. The series is a comedy of circumstances but the setting of the plot makes it far more notable than most of the sitcoms that prefer to deal with every-day problems.

The team of doctors and support staff of the 4077th MASH are expected to perform their duty in Uojeongbu, South Korea in time of war. Under these ugly circumstances, away from home, they need to keep their moral up; war is a dreadful thing and when your job is to patch up the horrors of the battlefield humor is the most powerful weapon. This particular division knows exactly how to deliver. Whether is Captain Benjamin “Hawkeye” (Alan Alda), “Trapper” John (Wayne Rogers), B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell), Henry Blake (McLean Stevenson) or Margaret “Hot Lips” (Loretta Swit), they tell their hilarious share of the events usually by writing down a letter back home.

Many of the stories held by the episodes are real events as they were collected from surgeons interviewed by the producers. Meant on the sides as an allegory to the Vietnam War (that was an active matter while the series was aired for the first time), the humor touches, questions, mocks and criticizes the situation provoked by war which gives a much profound set of layers to this excellent sitcom.
